Danger of Microwaving Water!

A 26-year old man decided to have a cup of coffee. He took a cup of water and put it in the microwave to heat it up (something that he had done numerous times before). I am not sure how long he set the timer for, but he wanted to bring the water to a boil.. When the timer shut the oven off, he removed the cup from the oven. As he looked into the cup, he noted that the! Water was not boiling, but suddenly the water in the cup 'blew up' into his face. The cup remained intact until he threw it out of his hand, but all the water had flown out into his face due to the buildup of energy. His whole face is blistered and he has 1st and 2nd degree burns to his face which may leave scarring.

He also may have lost partial sight in his left eye. While at the hospital, the doctor who was attending to him stated that this is a fairly common occurrence and water (alone) should never be heated in a microwave oven. If water is heated in this manner, something should be placed in the cup to diffuse the energy such as a wooden stir stick, tea bag, etc..., (nothing metal).

Thanks for contacting us, I will be happy to assist you. The e-mail that you received is correct. Microwaved water and other liquids do not always bubble when they reach the boiling point. They can actually get superheated and not bubble at all. The superheated liquid will bubble up out of the cup when it is moved or when something like a spoon or tea bag is put into it.

To prevent this from happening and causing injury, do not heat any liquid for more than two minutes per cup. After heating, let the cup stand in the microwave for thirty seconds! Before moving it or adding anything into it.

Here is what our local science teacher had to say on the matter: 'Thanks for the microwave warning. I have seen this happen before. It is caused by a phenomenon known as super heating. It can occur anytime water is heated and will particularly occur if the vessel that the water is heated in is new, or when heating a small amount of water (less than half a cup).

What happens is that the water heats faster than the vapor bubbles can form. If the cup is very new then it is unlikely to have small surface scratches inside it that provide a place for the bubbles to form. As the bubbles cannot form and release some of the heat has built up, the liquid does not boil, and the liquid continues to heat up well past its boiling point.

What then usually happens is that the liquid is bumped or jarred, which is just enough of a shock to cause the bubbles to rapidly form and expel the hot liquid.. The rapid formation of bubbles is also why a carbonated beverage spews when opened after having been shaken.'

If you pass this on you could very well save someone from a lot of pain and suffering

Received from a friend who is in the insurance property business. It is well worth reading.

This is one of those e-mails that if you don't send it, rest assured someone on your list will suffer for not reading it. The original message was written by a lady whose brother and wife learned a hard lesson this past week.

Their house burnt down.. nothing left but ashes. They have good insurance so the house will be replaced and most of the contents. That is the good news.

However, they were sick when they found out the cause of the fire. The insurance investigator sifted through the ashes for several hours. He had the cause of the fire traced to the master bathroom. He asked her sister-in-law what she had plugged in the bathroom. She listed the normal things....curling iron, blow dryer.

He kept saying to her, 'No, this would be something that would disintegrate at high temperatures'. Then her sister-in-law remembered she had a Glade Plug-In , in the bathroom.

The investigator had one of those 'Aha' moments. He said that was the cause of the fire. He said he has seen more house fires started with the plug-in type room fresheners than anything else. He said the plastic they are made from is THIN. He also said that in every case there was nothing left to prove that it even existed. When the investigator looked in the wall plug, the two prongs left from the plug-in were still in there.

Her sister-in-law had one of the plug-ins that had a small night light built in it. She said she had noticed that the light would dim and then finally go out. She would walk in to the bathroom a few hours later, and the light would be back on again. The investigator said that the unit was getting too hot, and would dim and go out rather than just blow the light bulb . Once it cooled down it would come back on. That is a warning sign!

The investigator said he personally wouldn't have any type of plug in fragrance device anywhere in his house. He has seen too many places that have been burned down due to them.

Hi,

I want to share with you my recent experience when I was the subject of a well planned and obviously very well organised syndicate. I almost fell for it and fell for the baits along the way. Please share this with your friends by all means.

About 4 months ago, a lady whom I met through an international social network, starting short correspondance with me. After about 2 weeks of short 2-3 liners, she asked me to buy some nyonya curry powder and paste for her; and said that she will send me the $ to cover the purchases and shipping them out in advance. No problem, right? Ok, so I said.

About 2 days later, yes, my bank called me and told me about a wire received for RM1300. It only costs about RM350 for the stuffs I am required to buy and about RM 600 for the shipping. So I bought the stuffs and sent if off by parcel post with a balance of about RM300. She told me to keep the balance as my service charge - hmm, not bad but this is bait #1.

She then told me that she has businesses in Manila which have branches/reps in Malaysia dealing in commodities. She even asked me to source some commodities such as tea, coffee etc in bulk and if the purchase is successful, they will finance it and pay me generous commission. So far so good. This is bait #2

Then all of a sudden she called me from London (yes, shows a London number indeed on my handphone) and asked me if I mind if she deposits US$680,000 into my account. She said her KL rep office has a big problem and she will be down in about 2-3 weeks but they cannot leave the money with him and they cannot take the money out for the time being. Its ok with me since they are the ones depositing into my account. I did get a bit suspicious but they are depositing into my account. Her uncle will call me the next day.

The next day, my bank called me and said that somebody is trying to deposit US$680,000 into my account. To play safe, I called my bank back and talked to the manager who told me that they will not accept US$ deposit (cash) but they will do so if the money is TT in, or it is in RM cash, but there are paper works involved. The amount is very big but its acceptable for my account as I have been doing "5 figures" and "low 6 figures" biz through them. My London's friend uncle then immediately called my friend in London and asked me to keep the money with me until she comes down in about 2 weeks time - . . US$680,000 -- wow! her uncle told me that she (London friend) is a multi millionaire in Euro $, described as VERY VERY RICH & GENEROUS. She will pay me RM50k just to help her out of this situation.

I do not know what over came me but instintively I said that I am currently in Malacca and will be back only tomorrow. I would not like the idea of holding so much $ and then got robbed etc. . anyway, he said he will stay in KL and wait for me to take the $ the next day.

I contacted my friend at Special Branch (my father was in SB) and he advised me not to get involved as his theory was that yes, they will pay you the 50k etc but it is probably they wanted a safe haven for COUNTERFEIT US$. His theory is that the fake US$ is being brokered around and once they find a buyer, "she" will come and take the money and pay me the 50k and every body happy but me like a little sucker, did not know what even happened. Every thing goes well, nothing happened. Something goes wrong, I get caught with the fake money, they disappear into thin air only to re surface looking for their next victim in one of the global social network.

Anyway, I told them the next day that they can deposit the money with the hotel kept luggage or in a deposit box as nobody will even know, and I am not willing to hold the amount in cash. I think they know that I know, so they beat a noble and polite retreat. That guy stayed around for a few more days and called me daily to take the cash and even told me that he will meet me at the British Consulate. Very convincing I must say. Then all of a sudden, no news at all and he disappeared into thin air.

I did not hear from her again but she is still active I know. The numbers are still in use. Just be very careful. My SB friend told me not to report the matter as people like that have vast networks and if they get busted, they know who did it and repercussions will follow. I have actually given him the numbers etc but they will wait for about a year before moving in as they are trying to trace the roots and not just the end fruit. (Sounds a bit like T Harv Eker!). It seems that this is now quite a standard modus operandi for pushing fake currencies.

Malaysia PLUS Highway Toll Gate Operator SCAM

Here's something to be aware of for all PLUS Toll user in Malaysia..

I had to go to some place in Desa Pandan yesterday afternoon.

Of course the road that I used was Kesas highway.

The story I'm about to tell started upon reaching the Toll Gate near Awan Besar.

It happened after I handed to theToll Operator my payment for using that expensive highway - RM 2.20.

Me : "Resit, pliz..."
Toll Operator : "Err, bang, resit takde la..."
Me : "Mcm mana boleh takde pulak...?"
Toll Operator : "Erm, saya TERTEKAN kelas 4.... harga dia lain..."
Me : "Kelas 4???".... (sambil tercari-cari where I could find any clue about Kelas 4...)

Ah, there it is, just right in front of me...

All of the sudden,

Toll Operator : "Bang, nah amik la... saya bagi 'change'" (handing me RM1.10)
Me : (automatically accept the notes with blank expression, shut my window close and bye-bye)

At first, I said to myself, "Hey, at least I pay half, itu sudah Untung..."

Until I realize the actual plot done by the Toll Operator... Damn it, I forgot his name from the name tag!!!

Like what old folk said - Selagi tak kena batang hidung sendiri, selagi itu kita tak sedar.
Now I know that there is some basis of a few allegation towards the Toll Operator.

Even one of my friend refuse to work as Toll Operator due to this sinister plot.

Apparently, most of them vowed not to disclose this wrongdoing to other

people and unanimously doing it without any guilt.

So how much do the Toll Operator actually earn from this broad day light robbery in

their own employer's premises. Let say that every time the Class 1, 2 and 3 pass

through the gate and the Operator press the Class 4 for Taxis...

One Car - Class 1 - Loss - $1.10
One Lorry - Class 2 - Loss -$ 2.20
One Lorry - Class 3 - Loss - $3.30

If the Operator manage to get 100 vehicle for every class in a period of 8 working hours a day.

Class 1 $1.10 x 100 = $110
Class 2 $2.20 x 100 = $220
Class 3 $3.30 x 100 = $330
Total = $660.00 per day!

Assuming he/she work for 5 days a week or 22 days a month.
Total = RM 14,520.00 per month
Not including his/her own monthly salary....
Wow!! that's more than 3 times fold of normal engineer's salary.

And that's only for one operator... how about other operators that did the same thing?!

The above calculation may vary for different lanes. I bet that the one who works in

Lorry Lane may be doing this and have joyous time for sucking hundreds everyday from

this system. Those who stay in normal car lane, might be getting less as he/she can

only deduct from Class1 to Class 4 only.

All the above is just my say. My pre-assumption. Not base on actual, except from

yesterday short experience. We heard a lot that some make money being toll operator

and lived luxuriously, but some suffer due to low wages.

Nevertheless, Kesas was known years ago for having bribery scandal involving the

Petrol Station operator. Those days, for example, there are only BP and Caltex near

Awan Besar dan Awan Kecil. Now there are Petronas and Shell some more. Yes, the

culprit were charged with Bribery, only that he was caught red-handed with concrete

proof. How about others??? for instance the toll operator

Government had to pay the toll company for the toll hike although the toll

company keep on making profit.

amounting to RM38.5 billion to 20 highway companies. A RM380 million windfall for

9 toll concessionaires earned solely from the toll hikes in 2008 alone;

I wonder, if the Toll Company are really "TELUS" in their operation and maintenance cost,

while the operator are honest in doing their duty, how much million can be saved and

enjoyed by toll company in term of PROFIT.

If the projection is high, there is no need for Government to spend more on subsidy or

compensation towards the Toll Company.

If the profit is enough to cover the company's interest, then also, there is no need to

increase the toll price anymore....

If just the Toll company can setup a system to prevent their toll operator to manipulate

the "classing" system for their own personal benefit.. then the toll company can benefit

better from toll collection.

I myself are so disgusted with certain TOLL OPERATOR.

As for the readers, please do your part in preventing this to happen. By hook or by crook,

we had to use highways. At least the money we spent for the services, goes to the

maintenance and operation of the highways... not to the selfish operators!

Dealing with Rude People

Some tips on dealing with Rude People, try and adapt it if possible.

Diversion – While nothing can be done for a rude family member, or a childhood friend, you can always think of more pleasant thoughts to divert your mind from the annoyance. It is not foolproof, but it will help your blood pressure to ease up a bit.
Count to ten – This trick helps much when you are getting angry, but as I have discovered, it can also help get you out of trouble. Saving your breath from issuing a scathing remark can save relationships and reputations in the process. If you are anything like me, rude people can easily be your source of anger. Ergo, 1… 2… 3…10.
Non-rude counters – When people come up to you and say “Oh, my! You are as big as a cow/pig/HOUSE”, rather than take the person’s stinging words to heart, you can always counter or reply in a way that would stop the person from further commenting. For example, for the statement above, I have this readied reply which goes like, “Really?! It’s a sign of progress.” Then maybe top it off with a wink.
Imagination overload – This tip is one of my favorites. It allows you to do as you please with the rude person – only you have to do it in your mind. Go as extreme as you want and imagine. Say for example, somebody says you are just a failure, then you can imagine a thousand 10-ton granite boulders to fall on that person’s head – or whatever your heart desires.

At HomeWord, we receive questions from time to time about Halloween. Should parents allow their kids to “celebrate” or not? To avoid “giving the devil his due,” so to speak, some Christians change the name of their festivities from a “Halloween” party to a “Harvest Party.” (While pretty much everything looks exactly the same!) Churches throughout our country use Halloween as a means for outreach to the community.

So what’s up with Halloween? There is no doubt that Halloween's origins can be traced to pagan beliefs and rituals. Satanic groups have also attached meaning to Halloween, celebrating it as a special holiday. These origins and meanings can be researched pretty easily on the Internet. Christians of good conscience differ on their views of whether or not believers should have any participation in Halloween celebrations.

Certainly, Christians should not participate in the "dark side" of Halloween–to in any way approve of the satanic or the focus on paganism, evil, death, etc. Yet, the reality of Halloween participation for many, believers and unbelievers alike, is that of exercising a bit of fantasy, dressing up in costumes and having fun "trick or treating" around the neighborhood. To many, this is what Halloween is about, without any connection to occult or pagan practices. I have a hard time saying that there is anything wrong with this.

Let me give an illustration: We know the source and heritage of Christmas. We also know that for many people, Christmas is a very non-religious holiday. People give Christmas their own meaning, regardless of its origins. We would never say that everyone who celebrates Christmas is a follower of Christ or honors God.

Halloween, I believe, is similar. People give Halloween their own meaning, regardless of its origins. Consequently, because people participate in Halloween, does not necessarily mean they are promoting or encouraging occult or pagan practices and beliefs.

Whatever conviction you hold about participating in Halloween, live it out for God’s glory! In all these things, a person should follow his or her own convictions, while understanding that Christians may differ in their beliefs about this issue. So, if you run into those fellow believers who differ from your stance on Halloween, give them freedom to live out their own convictions. The Apostle Paul said it this way, “Who are you to condemn God’s servants? They are responsible to the Lord, so let him tell them whether they are right or wrong. The Lord’s power will help them do as they should.” (Romans 14:4 NLT)

I'll never forget the look in my patients eyes when I had to tell them they had to go home with the drains, new exercises and no breast. I remember begging the Doctors to keep these women in The hospital longer, only to hear that they would, but their hands were tied by the insurance companies.
So there I sat with my patients, giving them the instructions they needed to take care of themselves, knowing full well they didn't grasp half of what I was saying, because the glazed, hopeless, frightened look spoke louder than the quiet 'Thank You they muttered.

A mastectomy is when a woman's breast is removed in order to remove cancerous breast cells/tissue.
If you know anyone who has had a Mastectomy, you may know that there is a lot of discomfort and pain afterwards.
Insurance companies are trying to make mastectomies an outpatient procedure. Let's give women the chance to recover properly in the hospital for 2 days after surgery.

Dear Residents

I want to share this story with all of you and I hope you will inform all our other neighbours as well.

Today while having lunch at Mark's Assam Laksa Restaurant in One U, I was informed by the owner's daughter that she was just robbed by MAT REMPITs while stopping at the traffic lights in front of One Utama (old wing) coming in from the Taman Tun traffic lights at about 12.30 am . 3 motorbiker Mat Rempits surrounded her car from out of nowhere and just smashed the two front windows since there were only two young ladies in the car and demanded for money. They put a knife at
her throat!!!!!! They managed to get her handbag despite her friend trying to fight off the bikers on the other side of the car. 2 more Mat Rempits on 2 bikes were waiting a little further back, just in case. Their friends who were stuck at the traffic light to cross from Taman Tun to One Utama, rushed across beating the red lights when they saw the 5 motorbikes with bikers surrounding the girls' car. Upon seeing the car coming towards them, the 5 bikes with the riders sped off towards Centrepoint and disappeared into the kampong, and towards Damansara Utama. Luckily nothing happened to the young ladies in the car. The Rempits were gone in a jiffy, and when reporting to the police, she was informed that it was the 4th case in the month. My goodness what is happening to our area, apparently the Mat Rempits are closing in into Bandar Utama after finishing their rounds in another part of KL or Selangor and the police don't seem to be able to do anything except take statements and saying " Biasalah, next time jaga-jaga sikit dan jangan keluar malam-malam"

On another day, also around the same time ie 12..30 pm , her brother was behind another car that stopped in front of the KBU College traffic light near B 8, and saw about 30 Mat Rempits surrounding the car in front of him and dragging the motorist out and beating him up because he put up a struggle. The mat rempits then sped off after getting what they wanted. The man had a gash at the back of his head.

I think M14, cases like this should be printed out and put into every mailbox especially for those who do not pay their dues for the security.

The Mat rempits are aware that we have security so they are trying something else like robbing people at traffic lights and without warning. Please take care of yourselves and be always vigilant. Sometimes it may be best to give them what they want rather than put up a fight cos we are all not Jacky Chans or Steven Seagals. Maybe we should ask the traffic police to put the orange light for the traffic lights after 11.30 pm so that we don't have to wait unnecessarily for the
lights to change to green and be subject to the possibility of Mat rempit attacks etc. After all, after 10.30pm it is already pretty quiet when the One Utama crowd is all gone cept for the movie goers.

This is really scary news and please take care everyone.

Baru baru ini dalam akhbar tempatan, kerajaan telah keluarkan satu statistik kononnya harga minyak di malaysia adalah yang paling rendah di rantau ini.Kemudian mereka membandingkan harga minyak malaysia dengan hargi minyak di Thailand, Singapore, Filifina dan vietnam.Persoalan sekarang apakah asas perbandingan tersebut sedangkan negara negara tersebut bukan pengeluar minyak?Hujah seperti inilah yang di gunakan oleh barisan nasional untuk memperbodohkan orang kampung.

Ok, disini fakta yang semua orang kena tahu.Pertama sekali sila lihat perbandingan harga minyak malaysia dan negara negara pengeluar minyak yang lain:-

Malaysia RM1.92
Iran RM0.29
Venezuela RM0.16
Turkemenistan RM0.39
Arab Saudi RM0.19
Mesir RM0.81

Dari data di atas, membuktikan propaganda kerajaan adalah palsu dan tidak benar.Kesemua negara pengeluar minyak di atas, harga minyak adalah di bawah RM1.00 seliter.Ada sesetengah alasan mengatakan keluaran minyak kita tak sebanyak arab saudi yang mengeluarkan sejuta tong sehari.Menurut kerajaan, pengeluaran minyak kita adalah dalam lingkungan 700 ribu tong sehari.Oleh itu kalau berdasarkan ratio pengeluaran minyak antara arab saudi dan malaysia 1 juta : 700 ribu, sepatutnya harga minyak malaysia dalam lingkungan RM0.30 sen sahaja.Kenapa arab saudi boleh kekalkan harga minyak pada 0.19 sen seliter tapi malaysia pada 1.92 sen?Bukan kah jauh bezanya?Bagaimana pula dengan venezuella yang jumlah penduduk hampir sama dengan malaysia boleh kekalkan harga minyak pada 0.16 sen seliter sahaja?Ini menunjukkan ada sesuatu yang tak kena dalam menguruskan hasil minyak dalam negara.

Ketika dato seri anwar ibrahim menjawat jawatan menteri kewangan malaysia pada tahun 1991-1998, harga minyak di kekalkan pada 1.10 sen seliter.Bagaimana beliau boleh mengekalkan harga minyak selama lapan tahun sedangkan harga minyak dunia naik mendadak ketika perang teluk di iraq?Pada masa yang sama juga pembangunan dan projek projek banyak juga di jalankan dalam negara tanpa perlu naikkan harga minyak.Tapi pemimpin kerajaan beri alasan untuk naikan harga minyak supaya duit tersebut dapat tampung projek pembangunan.Masalah sekarang projek pembangunan untuk faedah siapa?Rakyat atau kroni?Berepa kerat orang yang dapat faedah dari koridor pembangunan di sana sini?

Subsidi minyak yang di tanggung kerajaan mencapai 35 billion setahun.Barisan Nasional bersungguh sungguh untuk mengurang kan subsidi minyak ini kerana kalau harga minyak tidak di naikkan dengan segera ianya akan mengganggu peruntukan kerajaan bagi membangunkan koridor koridor di seluruh negara yang bernilai ratusan billion.

Yang orang asyik berhujah ialah harga minyak perlu di naikkan kerana harga minyak dunia telah naik.Ada yang mengatakan ia masalah global.So yang kita kita fikir ialah kenapa nak risau tentang harga minyak dunia yang melambung naik kerana sepatutnya sebagai negara pengeluar minyak, malaysia seharusnya gembira kerana bila harga minyak dunia naik, pendapatan petronas jadi berlipat ganda.So apa masalahnya?Walaupun malaysia ada mengimport minyak dari luar untuk kegunaan tempatan, tapi bila dah net off dari pendapatan export, masih untung besar lagi.

Adakah negara akan bankrupt kalau turunkan harga minyak??

Koridor timur : RM112 billion
Wilayah iskandar :RM47 billion

Bila kerajaan membuat pelan untuk pembangunan projek di atas, sudah tentulah kerajaan mempunyai wang yang banyak.Jadi,jika kerajaan sanggup membelanjakan ratusan billion untuk projek pembangunan seperti di atas yang hanya boleh di manafaatkan oleh segelintir rakyat sahaja, kenapa nak tampung subsidi 35 billion setahun pun tak mampu?Mana yang lebih penting?Mana yang perlu di utamakan?Kebajikan rakyat atau projek mega?

Bila menteri menteri beri komen tentang ekonomi, semuanya berkata yang bagus bagus, tapi bila bercakap soal subsidi minyak, dah cakap lain pulak.So kalau Dato najib kata turunkan harga minyak akan buat negara bankrup,bagaimana projek ratusan billion di atas? Tak bankrup kah negara dengan projek ratusan billion tersebut?Perlu di ingat bahawa di samping pendapatan hasil petroleum, negara juga mempunyai hasil dari sumber lain seperti getah, sawit, taxation, balak dan lain lain.Pendapatan tahunan negara kalau di ambil kira harga minyak yang melambung naik bakal mencecah 200 billion setahun.Dari jumlah tersebut susah sangat ke nak sumbangkan 50 billion untuk beri subsidi pada rakyat?

Sri Aurobindo

Known as a revolutionary - ascetic, patriot, philosopher and yogi, Sri Aurobindo was a many faceted brilliant personality. Born in Calcutta on 15th August 1872, he tried to assimilate both Indian and Western philosophical thoughts and find the paths of divine communion and spiritual realization.

Early Influences

His father, Dr. Krishnadhan Ghose, was an Anglophile, and so sent little Aurobindo to England to study at St. Paul's school in London and then at King's College, Cambridge. In 1890, he passed the I.C.S examination with flying colours, but as he did not want to serve the British, he disqualified himself. Instead, he returned to India and served in Baroda as a civil servant, a professor, and finally as Vice-Principal of Baroda College.

Nationalistic Fervour

In 1905, Aurobindo Ghose joined the freedom struggle of India. He was the revolutionary who encouraged direct political action against the British instead of moderate reformism. He began writing essays, poetry, dramas and fiery articles on nationalism that stirred India's political consciousness. In this phase, he was appointed editor of the controversial "Bande Mataram" and was prosecuted in 1908 and jailed in Alipur for a year.

The Aurobindo Ashram

It was during this time that he had a divine spiritual experience in the form of a vision of the all-pervading reality. This changed his life, and in 1909, when he was acquitted, he did not return to politics, but retired to Pondicherry to pursue yoga in order to realise the mysteries of consciousness. He established an ashram there in 1910 and spent his time in seclusion, writing eminent books and poetry like ' Life Divine', 'Essays on Gita', 'Basis of Yoga', 'Love and death' and 'Savitri'.

The Aurobindo Ashram attracts hordes of people from all around the world to come to Pondicherry, study, meditate and discover themselves and the true meaning of existence. In India, Sri Aurobindo is admired not only for his nationalistic fervour but also as an ascetic and philosopher with a divine vision to guide us into a new awakening.

The latest tactic used by robbers to stop you while driving and to rob, rape or slash you has come to my attention after a friend of mine was trapped in this situation.

LATEST CASE

My good friend was driving along Kesas Highway with his wife just after Plaza Tol Puchong towards Kajang last Sunday 23rd December at around 11 pm after attending a dinner function at his relative's house in Bandar Sunway.

Suddenly, a motorbike overtook them and the pillion rider threw 2 eggs towards his car windscreen. Within seconds, his whole windscreen was smeared with the messy broken eggs. His immediate reflex action was to turn on the windscreen wipers which quickly covered the whole surface and blurred his vision.

So he immediately slowed his car and brought it to a halt along the emergency lane.

Then he got out of his car and was trying to wipe and wash the windscreen while his wife was seated inside the car. All of a sudden a Proton Satria stopped behind his car and 3 guys came running towards him with Samurai swords screaming at him to surrender his car and wallet.

Luckily my friend, who is attached to the police CID, managed to pull his gun out and fire two warning shots in the air. The 3 guys ran helter skelter back into their car and drove off at a very high speed.

He called up for assistance and was told the getaway car had a false number plate.

Apparently, this tactic has been used quite often in the latest string of road side robberies especially with lady drivers or men driving alone or with women and small children.

So please, should you encounter such a situation, RE M E M BER to make sure:

1) Not to turn on your car windscreen wipers.

2) Continue driving, with whatever available vision, to the nearest petrol station, police station, 7 Eleven store or any other crowded or brightly lit place to attract attention.
